  • Frankfurt am Main, March 29th 2016

    Winning design with hanging gardens

The proposal from the architects Jahn (Chicago) and Magnus Kaminiarz & Cie. (Frankfurt) won first place in a competition for a new residential tower in Frankfurt. The architects presented the idea for a new Skyscraper with integrated hanging gardens.

The new building, currently called Tower 90, will be part of an architectural ensemble on an approximately 13,700 square meter site, located at the entrance to Frankfurt's Europaviertel.

The architectural competition was arranged at the beginning of 2016 as a realization and idea competition. Subject of realization part was the 90 meter high "Tower 90".

With its hanging gardens the winning conceptual design gives the building an overall theme. This feature can be adapted by the surrounding houses. In addition, the architecture contributes not only to the ecological balance of the city, but serves to improve the microclimate of the apartments. Furthermore the vertically structured vegetation and the open block development will show a variety of changing perspectives to pedestrians passing by.

The new tower will offer on 28 floors apartments ranging from convenient 1-room studios to spacious 5-room apartments.
