Germany’s tallest residential high-rise is called Grand Tower

Construction on Germany’s tallest residential high rise has been underway since February 2016 in Frankfurt’s Europaviertel. The project, known previously under the name of Tower 2, will in future be operating under the name of Grand Tower.
 
The Grand Tower will offer space for around 400 apartments on 47 floors. At the same time there will be two terraces, exclusively for the use of residents. The first of these, at a height of 141 metres, is the 200m² Sunset Deck on the 43rd floor. On the 7th floor, the circa 960m² Grand Terrace is available as a generous private garden with unique landscape architecture. In addition, residents have access to the 172-metre-high observation deck at the top of the tower.
 
CEO of gsp STÄDTEBAU Jürgen Blankenberg said: "The apartments are designed so that almost every unit has its own balcony with floor-to-ceiling glass. The views of the Skyline Plaza, Taunus and the surroundings are unique. Comfort is the priority for us. This can be found in the amenities, which the residents will make ample use of. Static-acting partitions will give the tower a distinct rigidity and thus minimise fluctuations in the building.
 
The Grand Tower will offer apartments (approx. 41-45 m²), and 2-room (approx. 55-60 m²), 3-room (81-95 m²) and 4-room apartments (108-122 m²). Apartments can also be combined to larger units. On the upper floors, there will also be several penthouses (185-300 m²).
 
The price per square meter will start at around 5,700 euros on the lower levels. In the top five floors, the price per square meter is on average 19,000 €.
 
The sale of the owner-occupied apartments is being handled exclusively by Zabel Property AG. The real estate company has specialised for 25 years in providing advice to international customers looking to purchase quality apartments. "When putting Grand Tower on the market, we are expecting a lot of foreign interest. For this, we will be able to provide an ideal service because of our international sales network,” says Thomas Zabel, CEO of Zabel Property AG.
 
The Grand Tower will have a gross floor area of approximately 44,000 m². There will be around 425 parking lots, both overground and underground. The architecture originates from the Frankfurt architect Magnus Kaminiarz. Building permission was given in October 2015. Construction began in February 2016 and completion is scheduled for the middle of 2019. With 51 storeys (ground floor, 47 residential floors and 3 technology levels) and a height of 172 meters, the Grand Tower will be Germany's tallest residential building.
